Sekshun 8 is a group of musicians from Portsmouth, Virginia. Eric, Jason, Jeff and Jimmy are all natives of P-town and bring with them the attitude of their hometown. But don't believe what you're reading here. You must see the guys perform to truly know what the attitude is: In your face, loud, and most importantly, fun loving. Yes, with the attitude comes the belief that when you are at a Sekshun 8 show, you are entitled to feel that Sekshun 8 is but a dream, an idea, without you, the audience.

What you read will give you a good understanding of each member. Each member is his own personality, but together they are literally a "Band of Brothers" unlike any before.

Eric Briggs - Born and raised in Portsmouth VA.
From the enslaved populace; songs, chants and demands, while princes and lords are held captive in prisons. These will, in the future, be received by headless idiots as divine prayers.

Jason Tippins
I am the one your parents warned you about. I am the keeper of your mind, and I will give you what you need to come back for more. I could show you hell and make it seem like a sexual thrill ride. I am the lead singer of this band called Sekshun-8. Born and raised in Portsmouth,VA. This world wasn't ready for me yet. Listening to my metal influences like AC/DC, Danzig, and White Zombie. I decided to learn to play guitar and start a metal band of my own. I didn't discover my vocal chops till later.

I had the coolest parents who supported me and my brother's musical interest. We spent a lot of time practicing and getting fucked up and doing fucked up **** in me and my brother's bedroom. Playing in different bands we developed our own style. Through the next couple of years we went through several member changes and decided to become a three piece band. Me my brother and my best friend Eric. This is where singing became a must for me. I realized I want to be the guy on center stage getting involved with the fans. So we were in search of a guitarist to replace me.

Then from the darkness of the night came the final ingredient that would make everything come full circle for this band. In walked James Sadler. He brought a unique style on the table and together our music was unstoppable. We are in our own world and you can stop by anytime but you must leave when were through with you.

We call this world Sekshun-8

My hangman's noose wrapped around your delicate neck is at its ready, should you be ready for something you never experienced. I'm here to tell you all the things that you would never hear but want to. I see you in your nightmares and dreams. I play for you and I give you something you have never experienced. And if you wonder if I am crazy........ I AM!!.

What can I say at first other than, thank you for taking time to read about me. It is truly a pleasure to work with my brothers in Sekshun 8 and an even bigger priveledge to make music for you.

It all started for me years ago, when I was watching Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood (yes, I used to watch him so DON'T pick on me) as a child and this woman named Laura Webber came on TV right after teaching guitar. I was amazed. I went to my mother and told her I wanted to play guitar. I got a guitar for Christmas soon after and my musical journey began. I continued playing and practicing and with my own ear, learned how to play "Smoke On The Water" with no help at all. I discovered other rock music as well: KISS, Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin and many other rock artists.

Many other players came into my ear as well: Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, George Benson, Billy Gibbons, Steve Vai, George Lynch, Pat Martino, Sam Dorsey, Larry Driver (oops I am rambling here, let me stop). I am heavlily influenced by so many players, I can't really lock on one as the "end all be all this is my Hero" player. Let's keep it simple. I play rock, jazz, classical, country all kinds of stuff.
